Gemma Wardle

Gemma, born in Rochdale, is a versatile actress with a career spanning various over 30 years in film, tv and theatre.

She gained early prominence with lead roles in children's TV dramas like Wilderness Edge, How We Used To Live, The 8:15 From Manchester, and Dramarama.

At 16, she joined the Manchester production of Les Misérables and quickly rose to play Eponine in London's West End on Cameron Mackintosh's invitation.

Her acting journey continued with notable theatre credits, originating Serena Katz in Fame, Mrs. Lester in Betty Blue Eyes, and Miss Red in Shout! among others. She also portrayed Cinderella's Mother in the Olivier award-winning Into The Woods at Regent Park Open Air Theatre.

Gemma's career continues to evolve, with recent highlights like her role as Greta Gilmore in ITVx drama Professor T's second season and as a series regular in the upcoming ITVx Drama slated for release in the next year.

In the world of television and film, Gemma achieved recognition for her roles in Channel Five's Family Affairs, alongside Victoria Wood and Julie Walters in Pat And Margaret, and her appearance in the epic Les Misérables movie. Her recent endeavors include playing Mrs. Brown in CBBC's drama Harriet's Army, as well as appearances in Doctors, Life On Mars, Holby City, and Supplies.

With a diverse skill set, Gemma is also an accomplished voice-over artist, contributing to film, television, and radio. Her portfolio includes notable works like Relative Strangers, There's a Valley in Spain, and The Stone Book for BBC 4. She has also lent her voice to Big Finish recordings such as Judge Dredd and Doctor Who, showcasing her vocal prowess.
